An attractive antique, 19th century Tibetan Chuckmuck or Flint / tinder pouch.

A chuckmuck is a unique piece of kit with a flint iron to the base and a pouch inside for carrying tinder and flint, often hung from a belt or sash and used to aid in lighting a fire.

It has an arched flint iron to the base and the body is made from thick hand tooled leather with a handle to the top.

The front and the top have an applied silver decoration and the reverse is further decorated with large silver rivets.

No marks but tests as silver. A fantastic, functional antique piece of fashion history.

This would be great for film, theatre or reenactments.

Condition: Shows some wear, commensurate with age, light rusting to the steel, some overall patina and ageing.

Approx measurements: 4.5" width, 3" height and 0.5" depth.
