Antique Edwardian Dark Blue Celluloid & Silver Tone Swirl Cravat / Tie Pin

A wonderfully unusual antique Edwardian accessory, dating to circa 1900–1910, featuring a long, slender piece of deep dark blue celluloid decorated with an elegant silver tone metal spiral or swirl design.

The combination of the rich blue celluloid and contrasting silvery metal gives this piece a particularly stylish and distinctive appearance.

The elongated form and original pin fitting suggest that it may have been worn as a cravat pin, tie pin or other gentleman’s dress accessory, although pieces of this type could also have been worn in a variety of fashionable ways.

The reverse retains its original long pin with an old-style C-type clasp fastening, characteristic of early antique jewellery and dress accessories.
