Antique gilt spider brooch, Purple and Red paste, Bug pin

A fabulous antique gilt spider brooch.

This is quite a body heavy spider with slender golden gilt legs positioned around the first half of the body.

This spider has a vibrant amethyst purple paste set to the body and a bright red paste set to the head, the bright colours contrasting wonderfully with the rich gold, giving it an overall luxe antique feel.

The spider brooch fastens with an old c type fastener.

It is Unmarked, c1900s

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, it has a bottom heavy weight.
