Antique velvet jockeys cap, sporting hat

A rare antique sporting cap or jockeys cap.

This gorgeous and scarce piece is not only a piece of fashion history but also a fantastic sporting relic.

It is made from red and gold velvet with a satin lining.

The cap is piped in gold metal thread with a large and heavy metal thread tassel.

There is a name sewn into the lining A Duncan.

Late 19th century, very well made, this is a rare find.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some fade to the colours, the shades a little more muted, some wear to the metal thread.
