Antique Victorian gilt target brooch, hairwork, Mourning

An attractive antique Victorian era gilt mourning brooch.

Designed in the target style it is crafted in a rich golden gilt metal with a lightly domed front and beading around the outer rim.

To the reverse there is a locket compartment enclosing a lock of finely woven black hair.

It is has an old c type clasp and pin fastener this is brass.

Unmarked, c1880s

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, the metal is quite fine so care should be taken not to dent the front.
