Antique Victorian mourning bodice, Blouse, French jet

A beautiful antique, Victorian era black silk blend bodice or blouse.

It is a very fitted piece, the waist coming down in a point to the front, high on the hips with a wide pleat fold at the back allowing for a bustle / skirts.

It has a mandarin style collar and beautiful French jet beading, the waist fastens at the lowest point on a diagonal fastening with French jet buttons.

The front crosses over the body at a slight angle, it fastens inside and outside with hook and eye fasteners.

A beautiful piece! Lots of work has gone into this beauty, most likely a mourning piece, it does have some wear, see condition.

Condition:
Fair used condition overall, age commensurate wear and signs of use, some fasteners need replacing and have rusting or weakness, some wear to the collar, loss of beading overall, some small marks and worn areas, wear to the inner.

It has not been cleaned by us, specialist cleaning only.
