Vintage 50s gold halterneck dress, party frock, prom

The most stunning vintage 1950s gold evening gown or party dress.

This dress was made to wow and wow it does!

Made in England from a gold taffeta fabric, the gold is bright enough to shine but not garish, tacky or overbearing, more of a lightly glistening rich gold.

It has a fitted pleated bodice with a sweetheart type neckline and taffeta halterneck, it fastens at the back centre with a long metal zip and two small hook fasteners, the bodice is boned, it does zip all the way but the mannequin is too large and is my slimmest mannequin.

It flares out from the hips with miles of full skirt, there are 3 layers to the skirts, the outer taffeta, a gold satin underneath the taffeta and beneath there is a stiff netting to give volume and shape.

It has a decorative taffeta sash just below waistline which also hides the bottom of the zip area at the back, the sash is secured with a pretty diamanté buckle at the front.

Overall this dress is in great condition, no rips, tears or stains, the area near the base of the zip is a little frayed and weak and this could do with strengthening.
